Mr. Brian Smith 43, of Whiteville died Sunday, May 15, 2016 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born August 17, 1972 in Columbus County. He was a commercial electrician. Brian attended Whiteville High School. He graduated from Waccamaw Academy and attended Louisburg College and NC State. He played baseball at Whiteville High School, Waccamaw Academy and Louisburg College.

He is survived by a daughter, Brianna Smith of Whiteville; his parents, Rev. Mitchell Smith and Sherry Sellers Smith of Whiteville; two brothers, Stanton Smith of Whiteville and Ezra Smith of Loris, SC; two sisters, Kelly Griffin of Chadbourn and Lindsey Bowen of Whiteville; grandparents, Lucille Sellers and Ethel Smith.

Preceded in death by grandparents, Ezra Smith and U. V. Sellers.

His funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Abundant Life Assembly of God by Rev. Jerry Spivey. Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.

His family will receive friends 6:30 - 8:30 pm Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Peacock Funeral Home.
