Clovis Gore Long

Clovis Gore Long 92, of Nakina died Sunday, August 13, 2017 in Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Lifecare Center, Whiteville. 

She was born November 24, 1924 in Columbus County the daughter of the late Robert "Bob" Gore and Vassie Gore. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was the widow of the late Ernest H. Long.  She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Ola Leigh Cox, Agnes Stocks, Betty Jo Long; two brothers, Howard and Edward Gore.

She is survived by a son, Jeffrey Long and wife, Annie of Nakina; a daughter, Sue Gore and husband, Phil of Nakina, a brother, Guy Gore of Nakina; two sisters, Jeanette Long , Nell Stocks and husband, Charles of Nakina; four grandchildren, Michelle Lewis and husband, Gordy of Shallotte, Cheryl McRae and husband, Vance of Nakina, Charlie Gore and wife, Susan of Ocean Isle Beach, Justin Davis of Nakina and three  great grandchildren, Gavin McRae, Caden McRae and Addie Lewis; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Jones of Whiteville, Maeve Duncan and husband, Pete of  Tabor City.

Her funeral will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends 1:30 - 3:00 pm Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Peacock Funeral Home.
