Doshie Sellers Pope

Doshie Jane Sellers, Pope 96, of Whiteville died Friday, June 2, 2017 at her home.  She was born February 9, 1921 in Columbus County the daughter of the late B. K. Sellers and Beulah Fowler Sellers.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Pope, two brothers, Bruce and Dewey Sellers, two grandchildren, Brenda Blackwell and Eugene Butler.  

She is survived by a son, Ervin Pope and wife, Martha of Canton, NC; a daughter, Faye Butler of Whiteville; four grandchildren, Terry Hinson and husband, Freddie of Whiteville, Sandy Page and husband,  Bill of Canton, NC, Lisa Benton and husband, Ben of Whiteville, Ricky Butler of Whiteville; a brother, Thurston Sellers and wife, Shirley of Bladenboro; two sisters, Bessie Walker and Earleen Sellers of Whiteville; thirteen great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Conway officiating.  Burial will be in the Rockwell Cemetery.  Her family will receive friends one hour prior to her funeral service at Peacock Funeral Home.
