Frances Timmons Hooks, 87, of Whiteville died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in Tabor Commons. She was born September 2, 1929 in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Sam and Frances Babson Hinson.

She is survived by her husband, David James (DJ) Hooks; daughter, Susan Stockton and husband, Steve of Lafayette, LA; step-daughters, Kathy Stempinski and husband, Marti of Chicago, IL, Lisa Hayes of Shallotte, Diane Sibbett of Nakina, Beverly Parnell and husband, Frank of Whiteville, Annette Lee and husband, Marty of Whiteville; step-son, David Hooks and wife, Cheryl of Nakina; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Roy Timmons and Earl Cartrette and a grandson, Justin Stempinski.

Her service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Peacock's Chapel by Chaplin David Kelly. Entombment will be in Columbus Memorial Park Mausoleum.
