George H. Young

George Homer Young, 88, of Spring Lake died Monday, July 4, 2016 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born February 15, 1928 in Columbus County, the son the late Isaac and Alberta Mitchell Young.

He was a veteran of the US Navy and was formerly employed with Hatfield Wine Company.

He is survived by daughters, Linda Watson and husband, Pastor Cleveland of Spring Lake, Beverly Harris and husband, Ricky of Spring Lake, Lea Williams and husband, Julian of Orange, NJ; sons, Michael Young and wife, Laura of College Park, GA, Alvin Wicks and wife, Rachel of Orange, NJ; a brother, Henry Young and wife Pastor Lucy of Lake Waccamaw; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

His funeral service is scheduled for 5:00 pm Friday, July 8, 2016 at Freewill Holiness Church by Pastor Cleveland Watson, Elder Calvin Park, Elder Cornell Green, Elder Rex Spaulding.

Burial will be in Freewill Holiness Church Cemetery.

His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
