Hazel Martin

Hazel Patterson Martin, 90, of Whiteville died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Whiteville. She was born June 29, 1926 in Columbus County, the daughter of the late C.D. Patterson and Lettie McPherson Patterson.

Hazel was a member of Western Prong Baptist Church where she served in various positions for many years. She worked with her husband as secretary at NAPA in Whiteville.

She is survived by her husband, Henry D. Martin; a son, Andy C. Martin and wife, Jennifer of Whiteville; a daughter, Lisa M. Reid and husband, J.B. of Reidsville; grandchildren, Allison Martin, Joshua David, Kayla Reid, and Bryan Reid.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dewey Patterson.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 am Friday, January 20, 2017, at Western Prong Baptist Church by the Rev. Ronnie Wilson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Her family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Peacock Funeral Home.
