Jean Blackmon

Rose Jean Paul Blackmon, 77  passed away Sunday August 27th at her home. 

Born October 9, 1939 in Robeson County, she was the daughter of the late Thamer Bate Paul and Pearl Herring Paul.   She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Susan Renee, grandson Justin Worley, and sister Helen Grace Taylor. 

She was a member of Brunswick Baptist Church.   She was a registered nurse at Columbus County Hospital where she took care of countless children until her retirement in 2006.   She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Hinson of Tabor City and Lynn Worley,  husband Edmond of Tabor City. Five grandchildren, Trista Bullock, Adam Hinson, Daniel Worley, Pat Worley, and Alison Worley.   Great grandchildren Harley Rose Hinson, Loren Hinson, Colton Hinson, Kenny Tompkins, Emma Worley, Abby Worley, Ava Jean Bullock, and Justin Alexander "Xander" Worley.  One brother Marvin Paul, wife Linda of Lumberton. She is also survived by special friends Jimmy Dale and Linda Dew and Clara McPherson. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 30th at 3pm at Peacock funeral home by Rev. Merle Johnson with visitation one hour prior to service.
