Joan Bowen Long

Joan Bowen Long 69, of Whiteville died Thursday, March 9, 2017 in Novant Health Brunswick.  She was born January 24, 1948 in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Hezekiah Bowen and Amanda Smith Bowen.  

She is survived by her husband, George Long, Jr.; four sons, Jimmy Rowe, Jr. and wife, Angela of Whiteville, Joe Dean Rowe and wife, Delores of Whiteville, Johnny Rowe and wife, Angela of Statesville, Buck Holeman Long and wife, Lisa of Whiteville; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Mabel Piver, Yvonnie McPherson and Doris Hart all of Whiteville; a brother, Jack Bowen of Whiteville.  

The family is planning a memorial service  at 2:00 P.M.  Friday , March 17, 2017 at Campside Freewill Baptist Church by Rev. Ervin Etheridge.
