Johnny Harrelson

Mr. John (Johnny) Edward Harrelson 60, of Whiteville died Sunday, May 2, 2010. He was born June 9, 1949. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart. He was a volunteer with the Whiteville Fire & Rescue for more than twenty years. He retired from the Whiteville Fire Department due to his health. He was a member of Peace Baptist Church. The funeral service with US military and Whiteville Fire and Rescue honors will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Peace Baptist Church by Rev. Chip Hannah. Interment will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:30 - 8:30 pm Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Peacock Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Cordle Harrelson; a daughter, Johlynn Harrelson of Carrboro; a step daughter, Kimberly D. Williams and husband, Kevin of Bladenboro; a step grandson, Jarrett Williams; His mother, Ruby Harrelson McQueen of Elizabethtown; a sister, Kitty Rose Raynor and husband, Roscoe of Dublin. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Linda Hinson Harrelson, his father, McKinley Harrelson and a brother, Donald Harrelson.
