Joye Bowman

Mrs. Gloria Joye Bowman, 81, of Dillon, SC died Thursday, January 12. 2017 in McLeod Hospice, Florence, SC. She was born February 10, 1935 in Dillon County, SC, the daughter of the late Ben Gary Humphrey and Bertha Mae Lane Humphrey. She was the widow of the late Ernest M. Bowman.

She served as a missionary in Guatemala, Central America and taught Spanish in Dillon High School and the community college.

She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Bowman Williamson and husband, Eddie of Whiteville, Deborah Bowman Nunez and husband, Dr. Gregory Nunez of Dillon, SC; a son, Samuel E. (Sam) Bowman and wife, Jakelyn of Haines City, FL; a brother, Victor Smith of Irmo, SC; two sisters, Margie Gray of Kingstree, SC and Margaret Burrows of Kingstree, SC; seven grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm January 21, 2017 at Dillon Church of God, 701 US-301 S, Dillon, SC.
