Lucille Ward Godwin

Mrs. Lucille Godwin 76, of Crusoe Island, died Sunday, March 20, 2011. She was born December 28, 1934 in Columbus County, the daughter of the late John Henry and Estelle Long Ward and was the widow of the late Cecil Godwin. She is survived by two sons, Andy Godwin and wife, Gwen, and Kent Godwin and wife, Mary, all of Crusoe Island; a daughter, Debrah Sullivan and husband, Dennis, of Whiteville; two brothers, Howard Ward and wife, Alice, of Crusoe Island and Jessie Ward and wife, Alice, of Shallotte; sisters, Sena Mae Etheridge and husband, Woody, Maxine Brock and husband, Jackie, and Marcella Etheridge and husband, Thurston, all of Crusoe Island and Ilene Fipps and husband, Gene, of Fayetteville; Seven grandchildren, Kelly Godwin, Lindsay Felton & husband, Scotty, Matthew Simmons and wife, Meridith, Chris Ray and wife, Melissa, Anthony Godwin, Zachary Godwin and Alfred Walker; Two great grandchildren, Mandeline Ray and Owen Tedder. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters, Rose Long, Mattie Etheridge, Vada Russ and Edna Simmons; brothers, Louis and Elbert Long. Graveside service will be conducted 3:00 PM, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Peacock Funeral Home.
