Mamie Lou (Tyree) Sibbett

Mamie Lou Sibbett, 82, of Whiteville died Monday, May 30, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. She was born November 11, 1933, the daughter of the late Joseph Ernest and Flora Watts Tyree.

Mrs. Sibbett was formerly employed by Whiteville Apparel.

She is survived by her husband, John Lee Sibbett; sons, William Sibbett and wife, Tina of Whiteville, Timothy Sibbett and wife, Sheila of Chadbourn; grandchildren, Bonnie Tyree of Whiteville, Jayson Sibbett of Whiteville, Shawn Osborne and wife, Erika of Whiteville, Melissa Sealey of Lumberton; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Parker, Abby Tyree, Sadie Osborne, Austin Hyatt, Reagan Hyatt; sister, Alma Buffkin of Leland.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Brice Tyree.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Hinson Family Cemetery by the Rev. Ray Best.

Her family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Peacock Funeral Home.
