Mr. Marvin Junior Ward 80, of Nakina died Wednesday evening in Columbus County Hospital.  He was born July 16, 1935 in Columbus County, the son of the late Marshall Ward and Lizzie Mae Long Ward. 

Mr. Ward formerly owned and operated M. J. Ward Trucking Co. for thirty five years.  He was a member of Nakina Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Jones Ward; two sons, Ray Ward of Destin, FL, Kenneth Ward and wife, Carol of Nakina and Lake Waccamaw; five grandchildren, Andy Ward, Wesley Ward, Courtney Ward, Beth Ward, Kent Ward, Nicholas Ward; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Linwood Ward and wife, Eunice of Tabor City; a sister, Betty Long of Nakina.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gary Ward, a grandson, Mark Ward, a sister, Evelyn Reaves.

His funeral service will be conducted 3:00 pm Saturday, July 2, 2016 graveside at Nakina Pentecostal Holiness Church.
