Robert E Autry

Mr. Robert Ethridge Autry, 72, of Whiteville, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at Columbus Regional Healthcare. He was born January 5, 1939, in Cumberland County, the son of the late Theron Carson and Margaret Elizabeth Murphy Autry. He was the widower of the late Carolyn Smith Autry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from United Carolina Bank. He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Autry Penny and husband, Phillip, of Whiteville, and Marsha Autry of Virginia Beach, VA; a grandson, Robbie A. Penny; a granddaughter, Caroline Penny; two sisters, Jeanette Autry Swann of Topsail Beach, and Sandra F. Autry of Lake Waccamaw. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Autry. A memorial service with military honors will be conducted 11:00 am, Friday, September 30, 2011, at Peacock's Chapel by Pastor Tim Rausch. The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 pm, Thursday, September 29, 2011, at Peacock Funeral Home.
