Rosa Lee Obituary

Rosa Tyson Lee 88, of Whiteville went to be with the Lord Monday morning, February 5, 2018 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System, Whiteville.  She was born June 5, 1929 in Robeson County, the daughter of the late Lewis Tyson and Frances Smith Tyson. 

She was married to the love of her life for 58 years,  Freddie G. Lee.  She was a faithful member of the Old Dock Methodist Church.  Rosa was known by those she loved as "The Prayer Warrior".  She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to her many plants.

She is survived by her daughters, Doris Watts and husband, Royce of Whiteville, NC, Virgie Stubbs and husband, Paul of Hallsboro,NC, Bonnie Sweet and husband, Lindsay Moore of Whiteville, NC; sons, Graham Lee and wife, Belinda of Whiteville, NC, Raymond Lee of Whiteville, NC, Lonnie Lee and wife, Pam of Whiteville, NC; brothers, Kelton Tyson and wife, Gladys of Whiteville, NC, Ervin Tyson and wife, Sue of Whiteville, NC; sisters, Margie Sellers and husband, John of Whiteville, NC, and Carleen Suggs of Whiteville, NC; grandchildren, Paula Edge, Stephanie Stubbs, Robbie Hilbourn, Tony Stubbs, Christopher Lee, and Corey Lee; great grandchildren, Kelly Edge, Mike Stubbs, Daniel Hilbourn, Jessica Stubbs, Scarlett Rose Hilbourn, Cody Stubbs, Josh Dicks, and Tori Stubbs; great-great grandchild, Tristyn Edge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Freddie G. Lee, sisters, Leta Lee and Lucy Tyson Penny, brother, Marvin Tyson, and son-in-law, Fred W. Sweet III.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Old Dock Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Sides officiating.

Interment will be at Old Dock Cemetery in Old Dock, NC immediately following the service.
