                                                    T. J. Kinlaw, Sr.

Mr. Thoma Javie "T. J."  Kinlaw, Sr. 75, of Whiteville died Sunday evening, July 3, 2016.  He was born August 30, 1940 in Columbus County, the son of the late Dewitt Kinlaw and Rosa Lee Powers. 

T. J. owned Kinlaw Used Cars in Lumberton and was a farmer.  

He is survived by his wife,  Betty and a son, Thomas  "Tommy" Javie Kinlaw, Jr.; four brothers, Harold "Buddy" Kinlaw of Whiteville, Mack Kinlaw of Whiteville, Willie Kinlaw and wife, Shelly of Conway, SC, Edward Kinlaw and wife, Cynthia of Clarendon; three sisters, Lillie Sealey and husband, Craven of Whiteville, Kay Jones of Whiteville, Faye Truesdale and husband, Stephen of Whiteville; three grandchildren, Thomas J. Kinlaw, III, Tyler Kinlaw, Kristen Kinlaw; a great grandson, Elliott Kinlaw; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph "Tooter" Kinlaw and Daniel Kinlaw; a sister, Shirley Kinlaw Stubbs.

His funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mike Warrick. Burial will be in Columbus Memorial Park.

His family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 pm Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Peacock Funeral Home.
