Velma (David) Strait

Velma David Strait 76, of Boynton Beach, FL formerly of Whiteville died Monday, January 16, 2017 in Palm Beach County Hospice Center, Delray Beach, FL.  She was born in Muskegon, MI the daughter of the late Roy David and Irene Scholley David.  She was the widow of the late Orville Strait.

She was a receptionist  with the WICK program.  She was a highly respected Christian and loved by many people.  She served as church pianist in Columbus County and Michigan.

Mrs. Strait is survived by two daughters, Julie Stowell and husband, Jesse of Boynton Beach FL, Andrea Dycus and husband, Ron of Oklahoma City, OK; three sons, Jamie Strait of Bowling Green, KY, Matthew Strait and wife, Janelle of Edmond, OK, Steven Strait of Hallsboro.; a brother, Ron David and wife, Marge of VA; two sisters, Lucille Rogerson and husband, Ray of Muskegon, MI, Loretta David of Muskegon, MI; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Her funeral service will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev.Dan Light.  Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.
