Vera Mae (Patrick) Freeman

Mrs. Vera Mae Freeman 97, of the Buckhead Community, Bolton died Saturday, December 30, 2017 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center.  She was born November 17, 1920 in Bladen County, the daughter of the late Alex and Nettie Patrick.  She was the widow of the late Chief Clifton Freeman, Sr.  

She is preceded in death by her husband and parents; a son, Lacy Freeman; brothers, Gaither, Hezzie, Olif and Ennis Patrick; sisters, Peggy Gasman, Zadie Patrick, Pauline Jakubowski and Louise Little, a grandson, Danny Ray Freeman, Jr.

She is survived by two sons, Clifton Freeman, Jr. and Danny Ray Freeman; a daughter, Priscilla Jacobs and husband, Welton; a sister, Meridith Freeman; a daughter-in-law, Reba Freeman, all of the Buckhead Community, Bolton; grandchildren,  Donna Freeman and husband, Ray of Bolton, Dean Jacobs and wife, Frances of Bolton,Wayne Freeman and wife, Cindy of Bolton, Charlotte Mitchell and husband, Jerry of Lake Waccamaw,  Melissa Brewington and husband, Don of Clinton,  Regina Freeman of Shallotte, Karen Freeman and husband, Darren of Bolton, Neal Freeman and wife, Mary Ann of Bolton, Danielle Freeman of Red Springs, Tammy Lisa Freeman, OK, Daniel Freeman; twenty-six  great grandchildren,eleven great great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 4, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Don Carter, Rev. Mike Jacobs and Rev. Howard Jacobs.  Burial will be in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home.
