William Robert McDade

Mr. William Robert McDade 72, of Whispering Pines, NC formerly of Whiteville died Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Whispering Pines.  He was born July 14, 1945 in Wake County, NC. the son of the late John Allison McDade and Ruth Hester McDade.

Mr. McDade  was formerly a patrolman with the Whiteville Police Department, Chief of Police in Bunn and Macclesfield,  NC.  He was a veteran of the US Army during  Vietnam.

He is survived by five daughters, Patricia Nobles and husband, Eddie of Whispering Pines, Susan Baldwin and husband, Chuck of Whiteville, Ruth McDade of Greenville, SC, Debra Harris of Wilmington, Kathy Weeks of Newport News, VA; four grandchildren, Laura Markey and husband, Derek of Wilmington, Patrick Nobles and wife, Kristy of Carthage, Brooks Baldwin and Bud Baldwin of Whiteville; six great grandchildren, Jordan, Sawyer, Lincoln and Griffin Markey, Paisley and Adalyn Nobles; three brothers, Martin McDade and wife, Joyce of Garner, Daniel McDade and spouse, Alex of Washington, DC, John McDade and wife, Polly of Orlando FL; six sisters, Thelma Tanner, of Tomball, TX, Marie Wachsmuth and husband, Walt, of Tampa, FL, Helen Browning, of Clayton, Patricia Oliver of Raeford, Jean Baker of Angier, Melissa Mahar of Conroe, TX; former wife, Helen Burton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Grace Tanner Scott and a son,  Larry Weeks.

His funeral service with military honors will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Heath Cadell.  Burial will be in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.

His family will receive friends 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home.
