Alton Glenn (Sax) Evans, Jr.

Alton Glenn Evans, Jr. 77, of Delco, NC, passed away Tuesday, June 4th, 2019 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Glenn was born in New Hanover County on April 30, 1942. He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Glenn Evans, Sr. and mother, Mary Wilson Evans, sister, Julia Brooks, son-in-law, Michael Nardelli and son-in-law, Jeff Kelly.

Glenn is survived by his spouse, Shelby Stocks Evans of the home; daughters, Kathy Brown and husband, Allen of Bolton, Valerie Nardelli of Delco, Beverly Evans of Wilmington, Kimberly Kelly and Kevin Edwards of Bladenboro; thirteen grandchildren, Katherine, TJ, Chris, Amber, Michael, Laryssa, Bailey, Madison, Forrest, Jennifer, Amy, Brandie, Crystal; twelve great grandchildren, Bella, Nolan, Bentley, Alex, SJ, Oliver, Mack, Deacon, Dillan, Taylor, Henry, and Tell.

Glenn was a member of Safe Harbor Baptist Church.  He served as a Deacon and Music Director for over 40 years.  He was the President of the Delco Cemetery Association and a veteran of the United States Navy.

His funeral service with military honors will be 1:00 pm Friday, June 7, 2019 at Peacock Funeral Home. 

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Peacock Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Delco Cemetery.
