Donald Grady Stanley

Mr. Donald Grady Stanley, 76, of Nakina died Saturday, November 25, 2017 in Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Lifecare Center, Whiteville.  He was born in August 17, 1941 in  Columbus County,  the son of the late Grady Stanley and Charity Stevens Stanley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jean Stanley, brothers, Calvin Stanley, James Ralph Stanley, William Earl Stanley, Lloyd Carson Stanley and Grady Wilson Stanley,  a sister, Doris Bryant.

Mr. Stanley was a native of Nakina and a long time farmer.  He was a member of Nakina Baptist Church.  He was an avid NC Tarheel fan.

He is survived by a son, Eddie Dean Stanley and wife, Cindy of Nakina; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Allen and husband, Roy of Nichols, SC; grandchildren, Tony McDowell, Greg McDowell and Katelyn Stanley; great grandchildren, Charlie Martin, Ethan Martin, Wyatt Martin and Hunter McDowell, his long time companion, Lou Long.

His funeral service will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Nakina Baptist Church with Rev. Darryll Hester officiating. Burial will be in the Stanley Cemetery.  

His family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday, November 27, 2017 at Peacock Funeral Home.
