Elnita Lee Strickland

Elnita Lee Strickland 69, of Cerro Gordo died Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center.  She was born February 24, 1949 in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Franklin James Lee and Eunice Mazaline Lowery Lee.  

She was a member of the Cherry Grove Baptist Church.  She was formerly employed by International Paper, National Spinning, and Georgia Pacific. 

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Ward Parker and husband, Bradley of Nakina; son, Ricky Lee Goodwin and wife, Amanda, of Nakina; one grandchild, RaeAnna Leigh Parker and fiancé, Zachary Hamilton; three brothers,  Ronnie Lee and wife, Debbie, of Whiteville, Roger A. Lee and wife, Tammy of Nakina, Raymond Lee and wife, Vicky; and special friend, Ray Ward.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Von Strickland, Jr., her parents, Franklin James Lee and Eunice Mazaline Lowery Lee and a twin sister, Juanita Lee.

Her funeral service will be Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Nakina Baptist Church by Rev. Darryll Hester & Rev. Rusty Davis.  Burial will be in the Ward-Coleman Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening, April 2, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 pm.
