Ethelene S. Hewett 86, of Hallsboro went to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, February 28, 2018 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Whiteville. She was born May 11, 1931 in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Daniel King Suggs and Viola Long Suggs.
She was a faithful member of the the Hallsboro Church of God for 53 years and served as the secretary and treasure for 35 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Carver Holloman and husband, Jimmy of Hallsboro, NC, Karen Hewett Reagan and husband, Russell of Hallsboro, NC; son, Danny Woodrow Hewett and wife, Debby of Whiteville, NC; brother, Julius King Suggs of Shallotte, NC; grandchildren, J. Matt Carver, Wendy H. Nealey, Steven Reagan, and Connor Reagan; step grandchildren, Mandy Long and Cody Soots; great grandchildren, Ryleigh Reagan and Aubrey Nealey; step great grandchild, Jasmin Long; special friend, Ann Watts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Albert Woodrow Hewett; sister, Irene Suggs Kornegay; brothers, Claude Gettis Suggs, Herbert Eugene Suggs, and Daniel Norwood Suggs
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday, March 2, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 pm Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Hallsboro Church of God with Rev. Danny Williams officiating.
Interment will be at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery immediately following the service.
