Gracie Ward Baldwin Blackman

Mrs. Gracie Baldwin Blackman, 86, of Whiteville, passed away on August 9, 2017 in her home.  She was surrounded by her loving children and family.  Gracie was the daughter of the late Ellis and Nellie Ward.

Gracie was an avid gardener and is remembered as a loving matriarch who was passionate about her family.

She is preceded in death by her siblings:  Ruby Hardy, John Ward, Leaman Ward, Mattie Watts, Thurman Ward; and her husband, Oscar Baldwin.

She is survived by her children: Mike Baldwin, Gray Register, Connie Todd, and a son-in-law Billy Todd; her grandchildren: Ryan Register, Jennifer Baldwin, Beth Todd, Katelyn Matney, and Kathryn Reese; her great grandchildren: Adam Register and Jackson Register.  She is also survived by a brother, Ellis Sterling Ward, and two sisters Blanche Marlowe and Faye Gore.

Her funeral service will be at  11:00 a.m on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jerry Dalton.  Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.
