                              J. B. Dew

Lonnie Harold "J.B" Dew 88, of Hallsboro died Saturday, October 7, 2017 in Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Lifecare Center, Whiteville.  He was born in Columbus County, the son of the late Lonnie Jackson Dew and Bertha Barefoot Dew.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Dew and a sister, Edna Dew Carter.  

Mr. Dew was a retired eletrician.  He formerly served in the NC National Guard. He was a member of Honey Hill Baptist Church in Hallsboro.

He is survived by a son, Gary Dew and wife, Joanne of Peekskill, NY; a daughter, Deborah Rorie and husband, Russ of Supply; a brother, Junior Dew and wife, Freida of Hallsboro; two sisters, Gladys Dew Ward and Geneva Dew Perry of Hallsboro; three grandchildren and one great granddaughter; special nephews,  Thomas Earl Ward of Lake Waccamaw  and Seth Thomas Ward of Hallsboro, many other nieces and nephews; a special friend, Doris Casselmann.

His funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 pm Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Troy Little.  Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.  

His family will receive friends 2:30 - 4:00 pm Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Peacock Funeral Home.
