James Richard Ward, Sr.

James Richard Ward, Sr., 59 of Whiteville died Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Whiteville.  He was born May 9, 1960 in Columbus County the son of Annie Pearl Watts Ward and the late Woodrow Ward.

He was the owner of James Ward home remodeling for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Renae Gore Ward; son, James Richard Ward, Jr. and wife, Catherine of Whiteville; daughters, Tonya Ward and husband, Brent of Chadbourn, Jasmine Spaulding of Hallsboro, Amanda Taylor and husband, Sonny of Chadbourn; mother, Annie Pearl Watts; brother, Robert Ward and wife, Wendy of Myrtle Beach, SC; fourteen grandchildren.

His funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. John Beattie.

His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Peacock Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.
