Mr. James "Pink" Stevens, 75, of Nakina died Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center, Whiteville, NC. He was born January 9, 1943 in Columbus County the son of the late Leroy and Edith Williamson Stevens.
He was a member of Gore's Chapel Baptist Church in Nakina, NC, a retired farmer and worked in the commercial construction industry.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hathaway Stevens; two sons, Eric Stevens of Nakina and Brian Stevens and wife, Deanna of Shallotte, NC; a brother, Wendy Stevens and wife, Teresa of Nakina; five sisters, Catherine S. Bertram and husband, Steve of North Vernon, IN, Linda S. Alderman of Punta Gorda, FL, Vicki S. Tyree and husband, Delane of Nakina, Rebecca S. Norris and husband, Al of Franklinton, NC, and Susie S. Vance and husband, William of Nakina; a granddaughter, Kaylee Stevens.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leroy Stevens, Jr. and a sister, Mary Ellen S. Reaves.
Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, July 13, 2018 at Gore's Chapel Baptist Church by Rev Glenn Lane. Burial will be in the Stevens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home.
