Jimmy Wade Stanley, Sr.

Mr Jimmy Wade Stanley, Sr. 77, of Lake Waccamaw died Saturday, June 16, 2018.  He was born February 18, 1941 in Columbus County the son of the late Arbie Stanley and Lishie Reaves Stanley.  

Jimmy was the Fire Control Supervisor with Riegel Paper, Federal Paper and International Paper Co. until his retirement after 42 years.  He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Lake Waccamaw.  He was a founding member of the Lake Waccamaw Fire & Rescue. Mr. Stanley served on the  Planning board of the Town of Lake Waccamaw from  2001 - 2011. He was a Lake Waccamaw City Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Ward Stanley; nephews Ray Rogers of Wrightsville Beach and Stan Rogers of Rocky Point.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jimmy Wade Stanley, Jr. his parents, a brother, J. L. Stanley and a sister, Lillie Mae Rogers.

His funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Will Harris.  Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday, June 18, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Lake Waccamaw,  PO Box 202,  Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450 and the Lake Waccamaw Fire Dept., PO Box 145,   Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Gore, Kevin Butler, Glen Ray, John Beam, Andrew Council,Michael Prostinak and Robert Bailey.  Honorary pall bearers will be members of the Lake Waccamaw Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.
