Joyce Powell Obituary
Joyce Tyner Powell 80, of Jamestown, NC, formerly of Brunswick, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018. She was born July 8, 1937 in Columbus County the daughter of the late Wesley Tyner and Thelma Davis Tyner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Riley Powell, Jr. and sister, Mona Garrett.
Joyce was formerly employed with Southern National Bank and retired from Liberty Loan after thirteen plus years. She was a member of Brunswick Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a son, Riley Powell, III and wife, Katherine of Whiteville; a daughter, Janna Powell Martin of High Point, NC; a sister, Peggy T. Box and husband, Johnny of Milton, FL; four grandchildren, Kaitlin (Brian) Yagmin, Scott Martin, Ashley Powell, and Ben Treece; three great grandchildren, Brantley, Savanna, and Lucas.
Her funeral Service will be at 3:00 pm Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Billy Roy.
Burial will be in the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.
Her Family will receive one hour prior to the service.
