L. C. Ward

L.C. Ward, Jr., 77, of Nakina died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at his home.  He was born April 28, 1941 in Columbus County, the son of the late Leamon C. Ward, Sr. and Cleo Gore Ward.  

He was a member of Nakina Baptist Church.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Deana Russ Ward; a son, Steve Ward and wife, Susan of Dunn; a daughter, Crystal Ward Fipps of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister, Hilda Butler and husband, Carl of Whiteville; four grandchildren, Grayson Ward and wife, Jessica of Garner, Parker Ward of Dunn, Julian Fipps of Nakina; AlexAnne Fipps of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; three great grandchildren, Sebastian Fipps, Liam Ward and Jesse James Fipps; many nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, Royce Butler of Nakina.

He was preceded in death by a son, Hunter Ward, his parents, a sister, Doris Butler.

His funeral service will be at 4:00 pm Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Nakina Baptist Church.  Burial will be in the L.C. Ward Cemetery in Nakina.

Visitation will be at Nakina Baptist Church on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
