Leo Simmons Obituary
Mr. Olen Leo Simmons 93, of the Old Dock Community, Whiteville went to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 22, 2019. He was born August 22, 1926 in Columbus County, the son of the late. D. C. Simmons and Annie Mae Gore Simmons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Cumbee Simmons and a half brother, Phil Simmons.
He was a member of Palmyra Baptist Church. He served in the US Coast Guard.
He is survived by a son, David C. Simmons and wife, Amy of Winfield, Il; four grandchildren, Olivia Simmons, Allison Simmons Johnson and husband, Charlie, Daniel Simmons, Tyler Simmons and wife, Krista.
His funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Palmyra Baptist Church with Rev. John Roberson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
His family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 pm Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Palmyra Baptist Church.
