Marvin Long

Mr. James Marvin Long 87, of Nakina passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at his home.  He was born April 4, 1932 in Columbus County the son of the late Shelly Lee Long and Emmer Jane Long.

He was a life long farmer and heavy equipment operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons-in-law, Alton Cribb, Robert Duff and Glenn Stephens.

He is survived by five daughters, Marie Duff of Whiteville, Kathy Cribb, Betty Parnell and husband, Donald, Delories Beck and Eddie, Tammy Stephens all of Nakina; four Grandchildren, Anthony Long, Donald Parnell, Jr., Heather Parnell, Linda Parnell Todd; five great grandchildren, Star Parnell, Brandall Parnell, Shane Dorsch, April Todd, Kaylee Todd; two sisters, Ethal Marlow of Castle Hayne, Saddie Lee of Whiteville.

His funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Nakina Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Roger Coffey.  Pallbearers will be Ernie Best, Jackie, Ward, Wade Jacobs, Stevie Jacobs, Eric Pino and Billy Jacobs. 

His family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Peacock Funeral Home.
