Mary Buffkin

Mary M. Buffkin 84, of Whiteville died Wednesday, May 2, 2018.  She was born January 7, 1934 in Columbus County, NC the daughter of the late Leon and Lula Duncan Carteret.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hiriam Buffkin, Sr., daughters, Janice Sellers and Jeanette Clewis, and a son, James "Meffy" Buffkin.

She is survived by a son, Hiram "Pete" Buffkin, Jr. and wife, Stacy of Erwin; a sister, Elva Harris of Whiteville; ten grandchildren, Damieon Clewis, Renea Clewis, W.T. Carter, D.J. Sells, Sara Sellers, Levi Sellers, Michael Sellers, Christopher Buffkin, Bryan Buffkin, Bo Buffkin, Kaylie Edge; ten great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, May 5, 2018 graveside at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery conducted by Rev. Joseph Cartrette. 

Her family will receive friends Friday, May 4, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Peacock Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Sellers, Kenny Tyree, Curtis Nealey, John Russ, Billy Chapel and Justin Norris.
