Robert Weldon Formy Duval

Mr. Robert Weldon Formy Duval 74, of Nakina died Wednesday at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, January 9, 2019 in Whiteville, NC.  He was born February 26, 1944 in Columbus County, the son of the late Rev. Guy Formy Duval and Reba Stanley Formy Duval.  

Robert attended Old Dock Elementary School and was a life long member of Nakina Baptist Church.  He enjoyed singing at church and his favorite song was "Beulah Land" which he preferred to sing acapella.  Affectionately known as Bob, he loved his family, his church family and friends.  He always had a smile to give away and never met a stranger, he made friends easily and enjoyed having conversation with others.  He always  fell in love with the congregation in every church where his father served as pastor.  Robert was his dad's constant companion everywhere he went.  His memory will be cherished by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marvalene Tison; a nephew, Timothy Tison.

He is survived by two sisters, Nelda Tison of Nakina, Joanne Thompson of Whiteville; a brother, Arnold Formy Duval and wife Hilda, of Nakina; nieces, Robin, Lynette, Karla and Gina; a nephew, Trevor; three great nephews, two great nieces. 

His funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Nakina Baptist Church by Rev. Darryll Hester. Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.

His family will receive friends one hour prior to his service on Saturday at Nakina Baptist Church.
