Rossie Ward

Mr. Rossie Ward, 80 of Whiteville went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.  He was born July 13, 1938 in Columbus County, the son of the late Lawson Ward and Golie Lee Ward.  He was formerly employed with Hill's Grocery.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Little Ward; a daughter, Renee Ward Blackmon and husband, Wesley of Whiteville; four grandchildren, Rayce Blackmon of Whiteville, Jacob Miller of Whiteville, Sarah Ivey Ward of Evergreen and Lawson Ward of Evergreen; a sister, Nancy Hardee of Elizabethtown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Greg Ward; a brother, R.J. Ward and a sister, Mary "Mag" Gore.

His funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Peacock's Chapel by Rev. Jeff Barton and Rev. David Todd.  Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.

His family will receive friends 2:00 - 3:00 pm Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home prior to his service.
