Ruby Byrd Pinyatello

Ruby Byrd Pinyatello 94, of Decatur, Alabama, formerly of the Whiteville area, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Parkway Hospital, Alabama.  She was born May 28, 1923 in Duplin County.  She was the daughter of the late Strange Vance Byrd and Dora Elizabeth Lane Byrd.  She was the widow of the late James Dominic Pinyatello. 

Mrs. Pinyatello was a former member of Trinity Baptist Church.  She was formerly employed with Belk for 10 years.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Bonnie Greene and great grandson, Braxton Edwards.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Waters and husband, Marlon of Hartselle, AL, Teresa Edwards and husband, John of Decatur, AL; a sister, Gladys McCullen of Wilmington, NC; seven grandchildren, Tommy Greene, Daryl Greene, Kim Edwards, Michelle Hopper, Cherie Alexander, Stacy Compton, and Missy Owens; fourteen great grandchildren, Seth Greene, Hallie Greene, Max Greene, Jadyn Owens, Peyton Owens, Devin Owens, Whitney Alexander, Aaron Alexander, Adston Compton, Kayla Compton, Talyn Hopper, Allie Hopper, Jase Hopper, and Cameron Edwards; two great-great grandchildren, Taytum Hopper and Braylynn Edwards; and son-in-law, Tom Greene of Whiteville.

Her visitation will be held at Peacock Funeral Home on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM with her funeral service beginning at 11:30 AM in the Peacock Chapel with Rev. Kenny Byrd officiating.  Her interment will be in the Columbus Memorial Park immediately following the service.
