Sally Lucille Gore

Sally Lucille Gore 85, of Nakina went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 17, 2018 in Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center.  She was born January 10, 1933 in Brunswick County, the daughter of the late Randall McCumbee and Aleene Long McCumbee.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Gore, parents, and a sister, Ernestine McCumbee Smith.

Lucille was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, a homemaker, and she spent most of her days working alongside her husband and children on the family farm.  Her bowls of collards, turnips, fried chicken, and sweet potato puddings will be forever remembered by many.  She spent her entire life serving the Lord and taking care of others.

She is survived by one daughter, Elaine Callahan and husband, Danny of Nakina; three sons, Randy Gore and wife, Gwen of North Augusta, SC, Dale Gore of Nakina, Allen Gore of Nakina; three grandchildren, Kelly Lane and husband, Jason of Nakina, Colby Callahan and wife, Brittney of Nakina, Jessica Lawler and husband, Jacob of North Augusta, SC; three great grandchildren, Owen Tedder, Lenzy Callahan, and Carson Callahan all of Nakina; sisters,  Carolyn Harrison and husband, Butch of Longwood; sister-in-law, Virginia Jane Summersett and husband, Frank of Grissettown.

Her funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Bethesda United Methodist Church in Nakina by Rev. Farron Duncan and Rev. Glenn Lane. Her family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Jerry Gore, Ronald Gore, Rodney Smith, Ted Dorsch, Bob Dorsch, and Brad Lewis.
