Sammy Jones

Mr. Sammy Ray Jones, Sr. 69, of Whiteville, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012. He was born June 23, 1943, in Columbus County, the son of the late Willie H. and Fannie Lowery Jones.

Sammy was a life long member of Cypress Creek Freewill Baptist Church. He was formerly employed with Lowes of Whiteville.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Frazier Jones; two sons, Sammy Ray "Bo" Jones, Jr. and wife, Melissa, of Nakina, Jeff Ward of Chadbourn; two daughters, Pam Buck and husband, Danny, of Tabor City, Heather Jones Inman and husband, David, of Whiteville; five grandchildren, Erica Buck Fowler and husband, Michael, of Tabor City, Cody Buck of Tabor City, Haven Jones, Audrey Jones and Lindsey Jones, all of Nakina; a great granddaughter, Maci Fowler; two brothers, D. F. Jones and wife, Glenda, of Sanford, Gene Jones of Lake Waccamaw; two sisters, Ethel Ward and husband, Marvin, of Nakina, Alease Register and husband, Albert Neal, of Hampstead.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bud Jones and a sister, Betty Cartrette.

His funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am, Friday, October 26, 2012, at Cypress Creek Freewill Baptist Church by Dr. Tommy Bryson, Rev. Eddie Carter and Rev. David Todd. Burial will follow in the Hosea Simmons Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8: 30 pm, Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Cypress Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
