Shelton Sherwood Milligan

Shelton Sherwood Milligan, 82, of Whiteville, NC passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 25, 2019 at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Ash, NC he was the son of Meckum Richard and Belva Simmons Milligan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Delbert Milligan, Melton Milligan, Curtis Milligan, Lester Milligan, M.R. (Mike) Milligan Jr., Layton Milligan and his sister Thelma Smith-Babson.

He is survived by his son Reese J. Milligan and wife Donna of Gloucester, VA., daughters Sherri Tentnowski and husband Michael of Crawfordville FL, and Darlene Williams and husband Danny of Whiteville, NC, and four grandchildren - Jessica, Kelsey, Angela and Alex. He is also survived by his sister Louise Gray and his brother John Milligan, along with an extended family.

Mr. Milligan enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held Monday July 1st at 3 :00 pm at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Tommy Bryson Jr. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
