William Kennedy "Kenny" Pierce

Mr. William Kennedy "Kenny" Pierce 70, of Whiteville died Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at his home.  He was born August, 20, 1947 in Columbus County, the son of the late Wade Hampton Pierce, Jr. and Helen Dell Scott Pierce. He was preceded in death by a brother, Hampton Scott Pierce. 

Kenny owned and operated a sporting goods store for over thirty years.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  He was an avid hunter, golfer,  artist and always a jokester. 

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Hokanson Pierce; a daughter, Michelle P. Young and husband, Ashley of Durham; a sister, Penny Pierce Linett and husband, David of Cape Cod, MA; grandchildren, Abby Young and Bowen Young; neices  and nephews.

His memorial service with military honors will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Fred Senter.  His family will receive friends 2:00 - 3:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home prior to his service.

Cheryl expresses a special thanks to family, friends, physicians and medical staff   for their friendship, compassion and care throughout Kenny's long term illness.
