Alford Lee Smith

Alford Lee Smith, age 75 of Whiteville, NC died Thursday, April 14, 2022 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC. He was born October 12, 1946 in Columbus County, NC to the late Earlie Major and Ruth Leonard Smith.

He is survived by his son, Brian Smith and his wife, Amy of Evergreen, NC; his daughters, Kristy Walters of Tabor City, NC and Sandi Chapman and her husband, Mark of Whiteville, NC; his sisters, Doretha Walker of Whiteville, NC, Joyce Stanley of Clarendon, NC and Gail Ward of Whiteville, NC; his grandchildren, Kayla Bunch (Justin) Anthony Chapman, Dustin Chapman, Tyler Clewis, Savannah Rittenhouse (Kynston), Morgan Walters (Cody), T.J Walters, Jace Walters and Logan Smith and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Howard Smith, Johnny Smith, Kay Smith, Virginia Tyree, and Mary Lou Smith.

His visitation will be held Sunday, April 17, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Peacock Funeral Home.

His funeral service will be held Monday, April 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Smith Cemetery on Butler Town Rd., Clarendon, NC.
