Mr. Alfred Mendel Schmitt 47, of Chadbourn died Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Columbus Regional Healthcare Center. He was born December 18, 1972 in Chesterfield County the son of the late George and Loretta Brock Burton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joye Mussellwhite.
He is survived by his wife, Margieo Erickson Schmitt; son, Tyler Edwards of the home; brothers, John Wayne Parks and wife, Lorrilee of Council, Danny Parks and wife, Darlene of Fair Bluff, Paul Parks and fiancé Pam Braysden of Elizabethtown, Sammy Parks and wife, Teresa of Whiteville, Phil Parks and wife, Beverly of Elizabethtown.
His graveside service will be 2:30 pm Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Smith Cemetery in Ash, NC with Rev. Gary Ledbetter officiating.
His family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2020 12:00-2:00 pm at Peacock Funeral Home.
