Alice Jeanette Waldron Council of Whiteville, passed peacefully away September 19, 2024 at New Hanover Regional Hospital. She was born on January 19, 1945 to the late Harold and Margaret Waldron.
She is survived by her husband, Willis Council of the home; brothers, Robert Waldron (Annelle) of Whiteville, Franklin Deleon Waldron of Asheboro; sister, Rosemary Sheppard (Rick) of Mooresville; brothers-in-law, Leroy Council of Hallsboro, Andrew Council (Bonnie) of Williams Township; and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanette graduated with the class of 1963 from Whiteville High School and received her B.S. degree from Pembroke State University. She began her professional career with Sears Smith Insurance Agency and continued as an insurance representative in the industry for over 30 years before her retirement.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was also affiliated with Calabash Covenant Presbyterian Church.
She devoted her life to the service of her Lord and Savior and to her loving husband, family, and friends. Jeanette found joy in the smallest of blessings of each new day and delighted in the simplest of pleasures. She was deeply loved and admired by many and will be greatly missed.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Annelle Waldron, CLP officiating. Burial will follow at Pierce Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to her service at Peacock Funeral Home.
