Mrs. Annie Lou Shepherd Dowless, 81, of Bolton, passed on February 10, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear Angel House, Whiteville.  She was born in Columbus County on February 24, 1941, the daughter of he late Othea Franklin Shepherd and Nita Little Shepherd.  She was preceeded in death by her husband, James Worth Dowless, Sr., her parents, and a brother, Carl Shepherd.

She is survived by a son, James Worth Dowless, Jr. and wife, Melissa, of Bolton; a sister, Reba Hammond and husband, Jesse, of Paisley, FL; grandchildren, Amanda Nicole Dowless and James Taylor Dowless; great grandchildren, Aaliyah Skye Green, Kingston Todd, James Rennox Dowless.  

Her funeral will be at 2:00 pm, February 14, 2023 graveside at Carvers Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Wilson officiating. 

Her family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday, February 13, 2023 at Peacock Funeral Home.
