Arthur Vonne Ward

Vonne Ward, 72, of Florence, SC, passed on Friday, December 1, 2023. He was born in Columbus County, the son of the late Herman Meloyd Ward and Lenora Bullard Ward. He was a retired co-manager of Harris Teeter. Mr. Ward was an avid antique car enthusiast.

He is survived by a son, Brandon Ward (Shana) of Waunakee, WI; a daughter, Chasity Cass of Florence, SC; a stepson, Ken Soles (Beth) of Hampstead; four grandchildren, Morgan Cass, Sophia Ward, Connor Ward and Parker Ward; and two stepgranchildren, Haley Soles and Zachary Soles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Jernigan Ward; his grandparents, Arthur Bullard and Ester Bullard;  and  two brothers, Emanuel Ward and Francis Ward.

Funeral service will be conducted 3:00 pm Sunday, December 3, 2023 by Rev. Ronnie Wilson at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service, 2:00-3:00 pm. Interment will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park Cemetery.
