Bennie Lewis Jacobs 65, of the Buckhead community, Bolton, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 16, 2021.

He was born October 6, 1955 in Columbus County, the son of the late David and Carrie Lee Freeman Jacobs. One brother James Carter Jacobs, father in law James D. “Tarry” Benton, and one nephew Gregory Samuel Clemmons II preceded him in death.

Bennie was the owner and operator of Bennie Jacobs Trucking for 15 years. He drove for George Transfer, Central Transport, Fleet Transport, and Horizon Tank Lines. His passion was driving. He loved it and it showed. He owned and operated LJ’s Lawn and Land Management alongside his son for over 20 years. He was also to soundman for Randy Ward with Gospel On Wheels.

Bennie was a beloved husband, daddy, Papa, brother, and uncle. He loved his family, especially his two grandchildren. He was a hard worker and always gave it his all. He was always smiling and never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Monta Faye Benton Jacobs; a son Jeremy Delen Jacobs and wife, Dwanedia of Leland; a daughter Ashli Dawn Jacobs of Lake Waccamaw; three brothers Hubert “HB” Jacobs and wife, Lucy, William Jacobs and wife, Cletis, and James Mason Jacobs all of Buckhead; a sister Lauraine Hufham of Buckhead; two grandchildren, Beckett Grant Jacobs and Hadley Reese Jacobs; a mother in law Vina Mae King Benton of Leland; a sister in law Beverly Cameron and husband, Cam; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Peacock Funeral Home.

His funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Mt Sanai Holiness Church with Rev. Michael Jacobs and Rev. Priscillia Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in the King Memorial Gardens in Leland.
