Mrs. Brenda Ward Stocks Strickland 81, of Tabor City went to meet her Lord and Savior Friday May 22, 2020 in McLeod Hospital, Loris, SC. She was born April 26, 1939 in Columbus County the daughter of the late John H. Ward and Erma Harrelson Ward.
Brenda was a long time member of Lebanon United Methodist Church. She retired after 30 years from the NC Housing and Urban Development, Inc. (HUD) where she served as director. She was previously employed at the News Reporter and Tabor City Chamber of Commerce.
Brenda was a compassionate and giving lady. She was always willing to help others that were in need and was very persistent in getting them assistance. Her desire was for everyone to know Jesus as their personal Savior and be a witness for Christ. She loved and cherished her family, especially all seven of her grandchildren and enjoyed long and endless telephone conversations with them. She was a dear prayer warrior and will be greatly missed by her many friends and loving family.
She is survived by a son, Ward Stocks and wife, Toni of Tabor City; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Stocks of Lumberton; two brothers, John Howard Ward and wife, Gail of Clarendon, William (Bill) Ward and wife, Janice of Loris, SC; grandchildren, Lindsey (Bryan) Bourke, Jenny Stocks, Allison Stocks, Stephanie Stocks, Landon Stocks, Luke Stocks, Levi Stocks.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Darrell (DJ) Stocks, Jr. and a long time best friend, Cameron Norris.

A small graveside service will be held at Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 26.
