Carol (Byrd) Moore

Carol Byrd Moore 77, of Lake Waccamaw died Thursday, May 25, 2023.  She was born February 3, 1946 in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Giles M. Byrd and Eloise Walker Byrd.  She was the widow of the late Darryl Moore. Mrs. Moore spent a lifetime in the school system. She worked at the Central office classroom and was Assistant Principal at Hallsboro Middle aand Elementary Schools  Mrs. Moore loved each and every one of her students.  She  worked 30 plus years and retired but was still actively involved with her former students and community.

She is survived by a brother, Giles "Buddy" Byrd of Hallsboro; nephews, Giles Cameron Byrd of Hallsboro and Brenton Blake Byrd of Lake Waccamaw; great nephews, Giles Hayden Byrd and Braxton Woods Byrd both of Lake Waccamaw.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darryl Moore, her daughter Natalie Moore and her parents, Giles and Eliose W. Byrd.

Her funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday,  May 28, 2023 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in the Lake Waccamaw Hillcrest Cemetery.  Her family will receive friends 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm Sunday prior to her service at Peacock Funeral Home and also following the service at Lake Waccamaw Baptist Church Fellowship Building at 5:30 pm Sunday, May 28, 2023.
