Carolyn Powell Sarvis 77, of Whiteville passed on Wednesday,  February 18, 2026 in Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Angel House. She was born in Marion, SC the daughter of the late Thomas Powell and Gertrude Barnes Powell. 

Carolyn has been a member of New Britton  Baptist Church since 1995.  She was a faithful ministers wife since 1987.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years,  Rev. William Sterling Sarvis; sons, Robert Sarvis (Ashley) of Murrels Inlet, SC and Scott Sarvis (Justine) of Conway, SC; brother,  Johnny Powell (Tricia) of Loris, SC; sister, Gail Jolly (Thomas) of Tabor City; grandchildren, Will and Parker Sarvis.

Her funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Sunday, February 22, 2026 at New Britton Baptist Church with Rev. David Watts officiating.   Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Her family will receive friends 2:00 -3:00 pm Sunday at the church prior to her service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Inman,  Greg Inman, Mark Gore, Benny King, Chris King and Bobby Simmons.
