Catherine G. Gore 98, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025.

She was born September 5, 1927 in Olyphic, N.C. to the late James Marvin Gore Sr. and Mary Alma Gore. In addition to her parents Catherine was pre deceased in death by her husband of 52 years, Tim R. Gore, three brothers, Charles Gore, Hubert Gore and John Gore,  her grandchildren, Amanda Lauren McLeod and J.D.(Josh) Blackburn.

Catherine graduated from Nakina High School in 1945. Catherine lived in Wilmington, N.C. for several years where she worked as a switchboard telephone operator. She also served as a volunteer hospital nurse for the Red Cross.

After Tim was honorably discharged from the U.S. Airforce, the couple married in 1954.

Catherine was an accomplished pianist. She served at Olyphic Baptist Church for many decades. Catherine also found time for crafts such as sewing, quilting, and basket weaving. Catherine also enjoyed traveling. Catherine was a member of RSVP(Retired Senior Volunteer Program).

Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, Wednesday November 12, 2025 at Olyphic Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 12:00pm with the Rev. Terry Faulkenbury and Rev. Chris Stanley officiating. Funeral Service will follow with interment in the church cemetery. Peacock Funeral Home is serving the family.

Catherine is survived by two daughters, Caroline Verrette Hickman and her husband Charles (Hoss) Hickman and Katrina Lynette McLeod, all of Lake Waccamaw, and one brother, James Marvin (J.M) "Jim" Gore, Jr. of Millers Creek, NC.
